We are more than a home - A community of hope and healing
At My Brother’s Keeper of NC, we’re more than just a supportive housing organization—we’re a family for those seeking a new beginning and a path to lasting recovery.

From vision to reality: Our journey to finding MBK
This home once belonged to a beloved family member . . .
My Brother's Keeper of NC was founded many years ago, inspired by Norman's personal journey of surrendering his will to the Lord. At a pivotal moment in his life, Norman chose to seek sobriety through a 28-day residential program at the Wilmington Treatment Center in Wilmington, NC. Today, he celebrates over 24 years of sobriety and has dedicated his life to helping others who are still struggling with addiction. At the time of his decision to surrender, Norman had four siblings actively battling addiction. He offered them words of encouragement, saying, "If I can do it, you can do it." Remarkably, all four siblings are now living drug-free lives. As a family, we have witnessed Norman's courageous battle with addiction, and today, we are blessed to reap the benefits of his sobriety. He has taken full responsibility for making amends with our family and others affected by his past, and he remains deeply committed to supporting and educating others who are struggling with addiction.
The house was purchased in October 2016, and the nonprofit was formed in February 2017.
The doors of My Brother's Keeper of NC opened on April 1, 2023. Since then, we have had the privilege of housing and partnering with 20 men, with our longest resident staying for one year. This home now stands as a symbol of recovery, resilience, and the commitment to helping others walk the path to sobriety. Norman’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of recovery, and My Brother's Keeper of NC continues to be a beacon of hope for those seeking a path to sobriety.
Through it all, we remain deeply grateful, knowing that God is good!

At MBK of NC, we don’t just provide a home—we offer a place where hope thrives, second chances are embraced, and every step forward is supported by people who believe in you.
